Music

Buster is a native of Cobh in Southern Cork Ireland and began singing at the age of 6 years old after joining the Boys Choir for St. Coleman’s Cathedral. He is best known in Cobh for his exceptional knowledge of Traditional Irish Ballads and ability to entertain as both a musician and storyteller (with many jokes) in the local pubs. He doesn’t take himself too seriously, as he himself says, ‘If he was ever hung for being a musician, they would be hanging an innocent man!’

At the age of 12 years, his Mum bought a €2 guitar and Buster taught the guitar to follow his voice. He enjoys backing other musicians as they join him on stage to sing, as he easily plays by ear all of his songs. Being unable to read music and being self-taught allows for the spontaneity of great Craic at the gigs.

In recent years, he has often been accompanied on stage by Jules from America who smiles and plays accordion as they perform Traditional Irish Music and International Folk Songs.
